Ich bin ein amsterdammer
"This tile refers in first instance to the souvenir seen through the eyes of
a cliché- flat- a remark, nothing less nothing more.
Beside that I wanted to make a low-price piece and easy to handle. This tile
was made for the 3924 Germans who emigrated to Amsterdam and 16931 ethnical
Amsterdam Germans."
(Coming up in the near future a foto commentary in living-rooms with the
tile of course; from above described people)
Ontegenzeglijk
(incontestable,undeniable,unquestionable)
"Strongly autobiographic souvenir; visualizing myself in an old peoples home, with this brick as my last
"weapon"
Ode to my father who owned a brickfactory.
Also made for the lovessake for the dutch language and the humor to see the face of the customs officer when he gets told that this is a souvenir from Holland."

"This souvenir finds her origin in the falsification of the myth which is a
grateful subject used on souvenirs ( think about the young boy who saved
holland from the dikebreak simply by sticking his finger into it).
Like the Surinam people put a golden "slide" tooth in before going out
dancing- likewise the dutch farmer wears a tooth with a golden cow printed
on it while the train travels through the green dutch landscape with golden
cows in it."
