about the Dutch Souvenirs project   shows   about the souvenir

dutch souvenirs is a project about the phenomenon of reproducible ceramic objects that are sold in the Netherlands as souvenirs. With the intention of making the concept of the modern-day souvenir a topic of discussion, the .ekwc invited 41 Dutch and foreign designers and visual artists to develop a new vision of the Dutch souvenir. Focussing on the philosophical and artistic idea of the souvenir, the participants have developed their designs into prototypes. Amsterdam Souvenirs, a co-operation of .ekwc, Jacob de Baan and De Porceleyne Fles, is a spin-off of Dutch Souvenirs, focussing more on the market demands of the souvenir business.
